The Gold Giraffe Audio Notes episodes

  • .012 Downloaded. Not Installed.

    What if you’re not stuck?

    What if you’re actually installing?

In this episode of Gold Giraffe Audio Notes, I’m thinking through what happens when we’ve downloaded new information, new wisdom, new experiences, new ideas, even a new version of ourselves, but our operating system hasn’t caught up yet.

As an AV tech, I’ve learned that sometimes the smartest troubleshooting move isn’t changing a setting or fighting with the equipment. Sometimes you just need to restart.

And honestly, I think creatives need to know when to restart too.

We talk about old operating systems, too many tabs open, low RAM, “Remind Me Later,” creative burnout, invisible work, the pressure to always be visible, and that weird space where you know something has changed but you haven’t figured out how to fully live from it yet.

    Because downloaded isn’t installed.

And maybe the pause you’ve been questioning isn’t a lack of progress at all.

    Maybe your system is updating.

  • .011 Curb Appeal vs. Indoor Maintenance

    Yoooo! Peace fam.

I hope you’re having a productive week so far.

I’m recording this one on a 30-minute lunch break using a $10 pair of headphones … because waiting for a “perfect” setup usually just delays the actual message.

Episode 11 just dropped and it’s aboubt 10 minutes. I’m taking y’all back to 5th grade when I stuffed wadded-up paper towels into a pair of oversized Air Force Ones just to look fresh in the hallway. On the outside, I was stepping. On the inside? My toes were curled up and hurting every step of the way.

We spend so much energy on curb appeal…making sure our lives look clean from the street…that we forget to check the indoor maintenance.

When the show ends, nobody lives on the sidewalk. Let’s talk about designing an inside that actually feels good to live in.

    Tap in on your break.

  • .010 Stop Running Out of Gas Before the Finish Line

Why do our best creative ideas so often get left in the dark? We constantly fall in love with the pre-production high and the production fireworks, turning nothing into something. But we commit 99% of our energy to the creation phase without planning for what comes after, running out of gas right at the finish line.

In this episode, we dive into the physics of creative distribution and learn how to manage our energy grids. True distribution isn’t about playing a flawless corporate character or chasing every trend—it’s about finding your single anchor, keeping your focus sharp, and saving some power for the porch. Plus, I share a quick personal update on wrapping up the 25-day creative arts fast and how to create with deeper clarity and intention moving forward.

Pull up a chair, slide into your space, and let’s get into it.

  • .009 Stillness, Execution, and the Power of the Reservoir

Are you burning out your engine chasing every single bright idea? In Episode 9, we dive deep into the trap of immediate production and why romanticizing the creative chaos splits your presence down the middle. Breaking down a chaotic highway driving story, we unpack the contrasting creative disciplines of two legends: Michael Jackson's mastery of stillness and Tupac Shakur's fierce dedication to execution. Discover how to bridge the two using "The Reservoir"—a practical, 30-second system to lock in your raw inspiration, protect your presence, and let your life fuel your art.

  • .008 You're Doing Everything Alone (and it's starting to show)

Fam! The podcast is officially back for Season 2. I’m so grateful to be sharing this new space and this new chapter with yall. Today, we’re unpacking something heavy: the quiet burnout that happens when we try to carry our creative visions entirely alone. I know because I’ve been there, done that - and never even got a airbursh t-shirt. SMH

I’m also pulling back the curtain on how I'm really doing on this 25-day Creative Arts Fast. It aint for everybody frfr…

Let’s sit down, talk about what it means to actually share the weight, and explore the parts of us that only open up when we build together. Tap in with me.

  • .007 It's Only Mid Because You're Trying Too Hard

Is the creative world feeling a little "mid" lately? In this audio note, we’re stripping away the performance and the polish for an honest conversation about creative pressure. When we try too hard to beat our best eras, curiosity turns into control and exploration turns into expectation.

Sometimes what we label as "mid" isn't average at all—it's just subtle, honest, and quiet. If your work or your life feels a bit stagnant right now, you might not be underperforming; you might just be recalibrating. Tune in to explore why easing up and choosing expression over impression is the key to creating what actually lasts.

  • 006. Stop Forcing It: You’re Just Speaking the Wrong Creative Language

Most creatives aren’t failing — they’re just forcing it. In this episode, Gold (The Gold Giraffe) introduces Creativity Languages, a simple but powerful way to understand why some people create best through words, some through hands-on making, some through time and slowness, and some through purpose and meaning. Gold shares the 6 Creativity Languages, popular creative examples that make each one easy to recognize, and the personal breakthrough that happened when he realized his own creativity languages were Creative Words and Creative Purpose. If you’ve been struggling with creative consistency, motivation, or pressure to perform, this episode will help you stop fighting your design and start creating in your native tongue.

  • 005. From the Parking Lot to the Table

What happens after you finally show up?

In this episode, Gold explores the often-overlooked moment that comes after presence — when you’re in the room, at the desk, face-to-face with your creativity and God, but unsure where to go next.

Through cultural metaphors, humor, and reflection, he breaks down the different levels of showing up... from the parking lot to the table — and why clarity doesn’t come from rushing, but from staying.

This is a conversation about moving at human speed, trusting God with timing, and learning how to remain present once you’ve arrived.

  • 004. What You Let In Shapes What You Create

In Episode 004, Gold takes a long-necked look at The Law of Intentional Consumption — a principle rooted in the understanding that creativity doesn’t live in isolation.

What we allow into our minds, bodies, and spirits becomes the environment our creativity has to survive in.

In this episode, you’ll hear reflections on:

    • Why creative burnout often comes from over-consumption, not over-creation

    • How noise, urgency, and comparison quietly disrupt alignment

    • The difference between isolation and discernment

    • Why peace is a cost worth protecting

    • Simple, embodied ways to practice intentional consumption in daily life

This episode draws from ideas explored more deeply in The 12 Laws of Grand Vibrational Design, offering a calm entry point into a practice of care, clarity, and creative self-trust.
