This guide has been created for you from my own experience of my loss of my husband and how I was physically and mentally during those first few weeks. Please remember that you are unique and so is your experience. For those of you currently struggling, my hope is that you find some comfort in the pages.
As a coach I understood what was happening in my head, and how I was feeling like I was in another "space and time" to everyone around me. How I could not retain conversations. Being asked to make decisions, which quite frankly, I would have had trouble with on a good day.
There is nothing wrong with you. This is grief, the emotion. We are told that it is a process that implies an end. There is no end. But when you come to understand grief, it will empower you, it will help you heal your pain of your loss. But all that is for another day. The purpose of this guide is to help you now. To help you navigate through these first days weeks, perhaps months of your loss.
I created this because people were telling me that their friend/loved one needed my help. I would ask, how long have they been bereft to be told just days. That may just be too soon for someone to work on their grief, but I asked myself, "how can I help, what would have helped me"?
