Jesus opens our gospel reading by declaring that all the pretty stones of our faith will be coming to the ground. He's chasing after our temptation to build him up as a powerful king, worthy of our praise. He's also challenging the temptation of the devil that Jesus make himself a mighty ruler deserving of honor. It all sounds great, but how do we not worship Jesus? He's Jesus, after all.
