Because the Pharisees & Teachers of the Law were criticizing him for eating with sinners and tax collectors, Jesus shares 3 parables in 1 to highlight that the Good Shepherd has indeed come in their midst. This Good Shepherd is calling out to to seek and save the lost and when they hear and are brought back there will be much rejoicing in heaven!
