Ryan and Prescott have a lot to discuss after a big Thursday Night Football win to open the new stadium. Josh Allen's flu game, crowd noise, and what we liked from another... tough defensive effort are all front and center as the 2-0 Bills look ahead to what's next.

There's plenty of stadium talk, and the two fellas also chat about what else happened across the league in Week 2. Lotta slappies out there already, but the Bills look far from that group right now.

With the Bills set to open the new Highmark Stadium and Thursday Night Football imminent, Ryan and Prescott called in a special guest to mostly talk hockey. You know, kinda.

Bleacher Report NHL writer and Noted Hockey founder Joe Yerdon joined The Sports Recorders for this episode, because we can tolerate a Lions fan on this show. It's called personal growth.

Joe, Ryan and Prescott chat about the upcoming Sabres season (preseason puck drop on Monday!), and what's going on around the NHL now that the new salary cap is in effect. What's Connor Hellebuyck's deal? What about Dylan Larkin? And did Zack Benson actually get into Peaky Blinders and what will that do to the vibes?

Hoo boy, what a way to begin the 2026 season, am I right?

Well, first of all, through Josh Allen all things are possible, so jot that down.

The Bills won their first game in Houston for nearly 20 years thanks to an MVP-level performance from their star quarterback, career-best showings from multiple players, and a bend-but-don't-break defense that made just enough big plays in big spots.

Ryan & Prescott had their hands full breaking down this game, and even with much to discuss, it was hard to not snap into moments of "The Chris Farley Show" when talking about #17. Y-y-y-you remember when Josh Allen threw a rope for a touchdown immediately after nearly throwing a pick in the same area of the field to the same intended receiver? That was awesome.

In a game that seemingly had everything, it did include aspects the Bills need to improve on this season. The more things change on defense, the more they stay the same. Penalties, 3rd down conversions, and miscommunications are all areas of concern. Still, this is the Buffalo Bills we're talking about here. They belong at the top of the NFL.

Ryan and Prescott both think the Bills are going to be pretty good again this year, so they talk about expectations for a bit before chatting about the other divisions across the league and who they think will shine this season. Who will stink? Which coach will get fired first? And the Chiefs are just going to be good again? Everyone expects that to just... happen, huh? Well, that's very interesting.

This one is, well, a bit long. But we're excited and there's a lot to think about this NFL season. We think it might be another weird one, but we have big expectations for the Bills. And this podcast/blog as well.

Ryan is back from a lovely time down south, and so the show opens with a bit of South Carolina talk before a dive into another Bills preseason game where the team looked good overall and the opponent seems to have big issues to deal with. Too bad!

Seriously, it's hard to avoid the mess the Cleveland Browns have made with Deshaun Watson, so there's a lot of talk about a bad franchise first. But then there's some real optimism about the Bills this season, and what you can take away from preseason games and actually get excited about.

Ryan and Prescott also talk about the tragic news regarding Ed Oliver and his family, who may have reported or not reported what, and talk a bit about extending grace to human beings. There's some soccer talk, too, and a bit of thanks to you for listening at the end.

The Buffalo Bills hosted the first event at the new Highmark Stadium back on Saturday, and the Goose's Roost was well represented.

On this week's show, Prescott regales Ryan with tails from an afternoon in Orchard Park he won't soon forget. Both lament the fact that it's 2026 and new stadiums still come with seats featuring obstructed views. Despite an offseason that's been anything but smooth for the Bills, there are still reasons to believe they will be among the best in the AFC. For a nice change of pace, Prescott is the one viewing the glass half full this time.

Even for someone who had a great time on Saturday, drawbacks were uncovered. Prescott delivers maybe the longest uninterrupted spiel in Roostcast history, but it's a thorough exam of the building the Bills will call home for at least the next 30 years.
