The Book of John stands apart from the other three Gospels. While Matthew, Mark, and Luke focus heavily on the actions, parables, and historical movements of Jesus, John writes with a singular purpose: to lead the reader to belief. His Gospel is not simply a biography. It is a carefully crafted testimony meant to answer one central question—Who is Jesus?

John himself tells us why he wrote: “These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John chapter 20 verse 31, KJV). Everything in this book flows toward that goal. Every sign, every conversation, and every declaration points to Jesus as the eternal Son of God.
