Sin is a thief, stealing a believer’s joy and replacing in its stead guilt and shame. Sin is also a fraud, parading around as if it is nothing more than a harmless dance, a one night stand with the devil wherein you wake the next morning and go on your merry way. Let it be clearly understood that sin is no dance partner. The regret and weight of sin are heavy and long lasting. The unassumed effects of sin are debilitating, further enslaving and ensnaring the sinner. All too often we shrug our shoulders at sin or turn a blind eye. It is important that we understand clearly the consequences of sin in our lives. (Michael Boehm)
