The ancient and modern lie is that we are our own, we belong to ourselves. That is where we are meant to find comfort. The truth is the gospel unites us with Jesus. We belong to Him. And this isn’t some subjective belonging that comes and goes, it is objective belonging; rooted in the work of Jesus.
