The lord appears to the disciples while they are in hiding, fearing the chief priest and their proselytes. Thomas not being present misses out and proclaims he will absolutely not believe what he is told unless he sees the Lord Jesus Christ with his own eyes, and places his hands on the crucifixion scars.
