The book of Ruth is a story of the miracle of redemption. It is a beautiful story that is as real as life itself because it comes from The Creator of Life itself. We get a close look at how God hand-picked a woman named Ruth to be in the lineage of the Messiah.
There is a very unusual genealogy: Boaz, the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth (Matthew 1:5). Women were not usually included in genealogies. However, Gods work is not usual; its a miracle. God intervened in history to add Ruth in the lineage of our Blessed Redeemer. God proved that he can work his redemptive power into the life of a foreign-born woman who had hit rock bottom. God's redeeming power is alive today. We live under the blessed covering of Jesus, Our Redeemer. Let us pray that more people will accept Jesus as their Redeemer.
