Is Hell a real place? Well, Jesus believed it was. That should settle it and fill our hearts with fear or thankfulness.

Philemon a beloved brother and fellowlabourer of the Apostle Paul was the pastor of a church and had a fine testimony and and a godly Christian home. Onesimus had benefits and opportunities that he did not appreciate.

Repentance has always been of a part of mankind's relationship with God. When Eve was tempted by Satan in the Garden she gave him reasons for not doing what he was tempting her to do. Satan, however successfully talked Eve out of her conviction. From that day til this the devil is known as a liar and the father of it. And he has successfully lied to the church about the doctrine of repentance. And until the church realizes that it is still necessary for salvation sinners will miss an opportunity of being saved by well meaning yet misguided Christians.

As we're continuing our messages on the subject of Preaching Jesus and dealing with the doctrine of Repentance, we learn that it is the devil's priority to insert false doctrine into the church. However, simply reading and believing the scripture teaches that the heart of the sinner needs to be affected. When the sinners heart -or a Christian's- is affected by the convicting power of the Holy Ghost an internal heart emotion is translated into an outward action.

Repentance is not a work. But next to offending a sinner and making them feel uncomfortable, the accusation of preaching works is probably one of the reasons that many soul winners do not preach repentance. When you tell the sinner that he needs to repent of sin, it's the job of the Holy Spirit to convict the sinner and not our job to point out individual sins.

Today we are going to deal with the doctrine of REPENTANCE. What is wrong with this Doctrine that has been preached by John the Baptist, Jesus, Paul and every fundamental preacher until the last 60 years or so. Much controversy surrounds this doctrine and today we will simply show that REPENTANCE is a New Testament, Church Age Doctrine.
