Many of us grow discouraged in our relationship with Jesus when we see no worldly profit in it. That is how God’s people felt about him in Malachi 3. Their hearts grew hard towards God because they saw their wicked neighbors prosper while they remained wanting. God’s promise to them was a profit beyond worldly measure that was ultimately realized by Jesus Christ, the sun of righteousness who came with healing in His wings. In Jesus, we are remembered, treasured, spared, and made righteous to God. That is a profit beyond any worldly measure but wells up to eternal life.
