In our text, Paul urges the Corinthians to participate in giving of their material resources for the support of their fellow saints. His goal is that they (and we) will come to understand that the life of sacrificial giving is a response to the gift already given in God’s Son. In fact, sacrificial giving testifies to a faith that believes beyond what can be seen and then lives in response to that faith.
