THE GRACE THAT MAKES MEN
Sunday 18th September 2022
1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
The grace of God turned a persecutor and murderer into a preacher of the gospel and a great Apostle. That's the grace that turns men into wonders causing people to ask them how they do it.
1 Kings 19:16 Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.
The man God was speaking to (Elijah) had raised over a hundred prophets and they could prophesy but non of them qualified to be a successor.
God looked for a farmer who didn't even know how to pray and made him the next prophet.
1 Kings 19:19 So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.
There is a grace that makes men that is beyond prayer, fasting, etc. May that grace locate you.
Read Acts 7
Abraham was an idol worshipper but God appeared to him. Genesis 12 was a continuation because Abraham had taken the journey with his father and God came and spoke to him again.
There is a grace that pursues men; I pray that it never lets you go until you become everything God wants you to be.
None of the men in the Bible had an idea of what God had called them to be but grace qualified them.
Luke 1:28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Mary was not seeking God (praying or fasting) at that time, she was busy preparing for her wedding.
We have to pray, fast, etc, but there is a dimension in God beyond our seeking. May the Holy Spirit help you to lock into that realm of grace that appears to men and makes them a wonder (1 Corinthians 2:9).
Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.
Thank God for the natural advantages but leave room for God because these have a limit (Psalms 127:1).

The son didn't walk home alone but with the father. There is a grace that can locate you from afar and walk to a place where you need to be.
2 Chronicles 26:14-15 there is a marvelous help that can locate men and make them wonder.
