Text: Luke 2:8-12

Have you ever heard about a great deal or sale at a store and had to get in on it? Maybe the Apple Store, Amazon, or Best Buy was having a great deal on smartphones, or something else that you were interested in. We all get the sale paper in the mail. Many people enjoy getting the coupons to use at their favorite grocery store to save a few dollars on the cost of their food bill. 

Here in our text, the shepherds receive a grand announcement from the angelic host. The message originates directly from Heaven, God's eternal place of living. The announcement has eternal implications both for the shepherds and those who will hear or read about it centuries later. 

Therefore, this Christmas season we can be comforted to know that we can apply this grand announcement to our lives and thus live a transformed life for the better.
