After a wealth patron of the Grand Budapest Hotel, Madam D, dies of poisoning, she leaves a valuable painting to M. Gustave in her will at the behest of her son Dimitri. M. Gustave and his lobby boy, Zero, steal the painting and run only to be accused of murder. Together, Zero and M. Gustave break M. Gustave out of prison to find his accuser so he may clear his name.
