The grandmother emerged from another
dimension stitching realities together
from the depths of her being,
the gathering dark of antimatter
at her back, the morning light of her
childhood streaming in the window,
her sewing machine in actuality a
time machine, the lenses of her glasses
ground down to thin membranes of air,
memories slowly gobbling up the future,
dreams quickly creating dancing partners,
a rapid procession of rejected
suitors, and an epic telephone call
connecting her to a bright new world.
