Jennifer Garman is the mother of 3 kids. When her youngest had just turned 1, her health fell off a cliff. She spent the next 7 years visiting doctors and chasing a diagnosis and a cure in vain. She came to a place of acceptance of her situation and began training to be a life coach.
During Jennifer’s studies, the notion of gratitude kept coming up over and over. She decided to begin a mental practice rooted in gratitude that also incorporated neuroplasticity techniques she had learned in her studies.
Her health began to transform, and not long after all of her symptoms has resolved and she felt incredible! She felt she had a new calling to start gratitudemission.org to share the power of gratitude with others.
In April, she published a book, Flourish: 7 Ways Gratitude Can Change Your Life, to share the power of gratitude with others. In June, she started a podcast called “Upward Trajectory”. On her podcast she interviews incredible people who have overcome difficult challenges in a positive way. Her slogan is “inspiration leads to transformation”, she explains how that works in today’s podcast episode.
Here are some inspiring words from Jennifer:
“When you take in all you do have, you’re not looking externally for what you don’t have to make you happy anymore. You’ve got it already and you’re grateful for it. That’s the reason people are so much happier.”
“Practice gratitude together as a family. Put it into prayers together at night.” - this has helped her family handle adversity. It helped tremendously during COVID.
“Look out the window, go for a walk in nature, be grateful for the ecosystem and cool things around you.”
“You have so much if you step back. Just the fact that you are breathing, you are alive, and you have a day to do something that will impact the world in some way, is a miracle. Just be grateful for that.”
