The Grave Goods Podcast

The Grave Goods Podcast - an introduction.

Listen Later

Hi, and welcome to the Grave Goods podcast, where I’ll be talking to writers, comedians, historians, musicians, artists and generally interesting people and giving them the opportunity to select a number of items they would like to accompany them when they go west, on their journey to the unexplored country.

The categories are:

Food for the Journey/One for the Road – your favourite dish and drink.

Tools of the Trade – a tool/implement without which you’d be lost. Can be a combination, ie pen and paper, wool and knitting needles, paint brushes and canvas. And although you can take an electronic device, it will only last for as long as the charge it currently holds.

Memento Vivere – a memento of your life to bring you cheer (can be a photograph, a childhood toy, pair of jeans, etc).

Ex Libris – the book or text you are least likely to tire of reading, or will finally get the chance to read.

Sounds Familiar - a custom pressed vinyl album, to be played on a complimentary wind-up gramophone. Can contain music, speech or any Earthly sounds.

A Vision from the Past - witness a moment from history/prehistory/personal history. You may not interact.

Legacy - the work or event or quality you’d most like to be remembered for.

A Message from Beyond the Grave – leave a note for a future generation to find (can be on your gravestone, if you intend to have one).

Post Mortem - a more wide-ranging conversation to cover any subjects touched upon during the interview which can be further examined.

If you’d like to see the written interviews that inspired this podcast, you can find them and more details about who and what to expect at gravegoodspodcast.com
