The great I AM

Listen Later

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you. Psalms 9:10 (NLT)

At that time people first began to worship the LORD by name. Genesis 4:26 (NLT)

1. Our God is PERSONAL.

Then the LORD told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey… Exodus 3:7-8 (NLT)

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? Matthew 6:26-30 (NLT)

2. Our God is right HERE, right NOW.

Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” Exodus 4:12 (NLT)

God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.” Exodus 3:14 (NLT)

You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be. I, yes I, am the LORD, and there is no other Savior. Isaiah 43:10-11 (NLT)

3. Our God is a PROMISE KEEPER.

God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Exodus 2:24 (NLT)

For though a thousand generations may pass away, he is still true to his word. He has kept every promise he made to Abraham and to Isaac. Psalm 105:8

Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.” The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I AM!” John 8:56-58 (NLT)
