Confucius was born in 551 BC and he died at age 72.His father died when he was 3 years old and his mother when he was 23. He became the governor of a town and later the minister of crime. The philosophy of Confucius, is known as Confucianism. It’s categorized as both a religion and a philosophy.It is noteworthy that this text and the Tao Te Ching (two Chinese religious texts) are at odds. Confucius was heavily in favor of self improvement and learning, which is the opposite of what the Tao advocates.
