Kingdom Life

The Great Multitude in Heaven

Listen Later

In this sermon, Pastor Chris Romig centers on the powerful vision in Revelation 7, where a countless, multicultural multitude stands before God's throne. He highlights the wideness of God's mercy and the total absence of racism or ethnic superiority in God's kingdom. This heavenly gathering, composed of those who have come out of the Great Tribulation, is described as joyfully serving God, free from suffering, hunger, or toil.

Romig clarifies that the promises of continuous worship and presence in God's "temple" are symbolic, representing unbroken fellowship with God Himself. The focus shifts to the core of Christian hope: the multitude is in heaven not because of their works or effort, but because they have been washed clean by the blood of Christ salvation is entirely by grace.

He urges listeners to examine the foundation of their faith, challenging them to answer the question of why God should allow them into heaven. The only true response, he says, is “Jesus died for me.” The sermon concludes by encouraging believers to receive God's love and grace, especially through communion, and to find hope in the assurance of Christ's love and the promise of eternal joy in God's presence.
