The Theatre Development Fund, at the direction of Broadway’s The Lion King, removed two white sign language interpreters because they were white and interpreting words from black (and white) characters in the show. This has opened up a federal discrimination lawsuit and left a big stain on New York’s esteemed theatre community in an era of ultra-wokism.
