The Greater Gathering

This week during the Greater Gathering we continue our teaching series Jesus over Everything, exploring the surpremecy and authority of Christ. We are searching the scriptures to hear what Jesus said. In Matthew 4:1-4 Jesus tells us how to handle temptation and respond to this life. The devil is allowed to tempt us where we are hungry but Jesus shows us in order to respond with the word we must first believe the word, then live (depend) on the word.

From Matthew 16:13-18, Pastor Hubb is challeging our faith as true believers to grow, as we ask the question of the scriptures, What did God say?!

Who do men say I am? Who do you say I am? And finally who is Christ?

The Greater Fellowship has gathered to continue our teaching series "Jesus over EVERYTHING." We finished the book of Hebrews concluding with chapter 13 that encourages us to keep chosing love. We see the enemy of our faith wants to distract, discourage and disconnect us from God, Christ, Holy Spirit who IS love. But Jesus lived a life we can imitate, died a death we deserved and is coming back to bring us salvation, so we can choose love over and over because it comes with a promise, that Jesus is GREATER than it all.

This week during the Greater Gathering we continued our study through the book of Hebrews and our teaching series "Jesus over EVERYTHING." Hebrews chapter 12 is full of wisdom on why we are looking to Jesus as our king, ruler, and savior. God revealed his love and himself to us through Jesus, who initiates and perfects our faith. Hebrews 12 encouarges believers to: 

1. Have enduring Faith
2. See discipline as a mark of sonship 
3. Answer the call of holiness and peace through Christ 
4. Recognize the warning against rejecting the True God

This week Pastor Hubb preaches Hebrews chapters 10 and 11 making clear the power of Christ's sacrifice over the old covenant because Christ's sacrifice was done once, for all people, for all time. We have great examples of faith in men and women of God who believed, trusted and obeyed God by faith and now we have access to this grace by our faith in Christ death, burial and ressurection. It is our faith that allows us to endure and not shrink back so God can save our souls!

The Greater Fellowship has gathered to continue our teaching series "Jesus over EVERYTHING!" This week we walked through Hebrews chapters 8 and 9 highlighting Jesus as High Priest the guarantor of the new covenant. A covenant that is faultless, where the commandments are put onto the minds of the true believers and written on their hearts. The old covenant based on the law, (613 commandments) is now summed up in two commandments "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind; love your neighbor as yourself." It was for love that God sacrificed his only son Jesus and by love we have access to eternal life through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ.

We are continuing to explore the supremecy of Jesus as King, Ruler, and Savior and the significance of his eternal priesthood after the order of Melchizedek. Only Jesus has and will fulfill you as you believe and obey.

This week we are walking through Hebrews chapter 5 looking at the example of Christ and how He learned obedience through suffering. We get the opportunity to share in Christ suffering in order to understand the cost of our salvation. Jesus was chosen by God, He is revealed as our:
1. High Priest
2. Ruler 
3. Savior

However, we are a generation that hears with its eyes and thinks with its feelings. The enemy of our faith then attempts to engage us in coversation to deceive us from the truth: 
1. Has God Really Spoken it?
2. Did God Really Mean it?
3. Go Do it Anyway 
Pastor Hubb proclaimed a bold message of true salvation calling believers back to true dedication and devotion to the spirit of God.
