KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • I watched women at home growing up, starting with my mother who was a beautiful woman but she didn’t like having her picture taken because she thought she looked overweight. My grandmother also decided she needed to lose weight, she didn’t, she was gorgeous. She eventually choked on diet pills which perforated her through and she spent 6 weeks in the hospital. Then, I started working around the world as a model and I was really lucky to be working with the top 1% of supermodels in the world and a lot of them were doing drugs, were in toxic relationships, were cutting themselves, were bulimic or anorexic. I realised watching all these beautiful creatures treating themselves so poorly that it was probably something to do with a lack of good, healthy self-esteem. I needed to write this book. It’s an action plan to become the confident person you were meant to be.
  • The book is more of a resource than a read. You can go back and read this book a couple of times during the course of your life and every time you should get something different.
  • It takes courage to unlearn values you’ve been taught all your life and now live your truth and find out what works in my world, to level up the way you see fit. It’ll tweak some noses and trigger friends and family as you grow and move forward. But, it doesn’t mean you don’t love them any more or that you’ll never see them again, your value systems and core beliefs are shifting, morphing and changing and you’ll start to live your life for your own greater good.
  • There are 4 pillars of self-esteem that I talk about: Look good, feel good, be good, and greater good. We all know we look pretty good when we look in the mirror and it’s a major factor to get your foot out the door. Finances, relationships, education, who you’re listening to and getting your information from and what are you buying into? Being good is what works for you to be a better person tomorrow than you are today. Greater good is nothing more than volunteering, paying it forward, paying back, working with charities.

BEST MOMENTS
‘If your self-esteem isn’t intact and you’re not feeling pretty good about yourself by the time your feet hit the ground in the morning, you’re not going to have a good relationship with yourself, your co-workers, family, spouses, whatever, your relationships will take a hit.’
‘Women are extraordinary the way they are.’
‘We need to unlearn things we’ve been told from our tribes, our families.’
‘You don’t have to do huge things. Sometimes it’s just holding the elevator door for someone or helping a woman down the stairs.’

ABOUT THE HOST
Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.
Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.

Why?
Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!

How?Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.
