The Psalmist pens a wedding song to the king that speaks of the glory and majesty of the Royal Bridegroom. When read throughout Israel’s history, Psalm 45 would gradually point from the historical Israelite king (monarchy period) to the Messiah who would come (exilic and post-exilic period).
