We all have a “master”.  Your master and mine is whatever or whoever controls our thinking and/or behavior.  That master has a “voice” that we respond to, simply by hearing it.  Jesus bluntly states that a person cannot serve two masters; they will hate one and love the other.  Is life really that simple?  Yes, Jesus explains why in the passage that we study the week before Christmas.
