Sarah Lockwood Pardee was the name of the woman, born in New Haven, CT in 1839, who would go on to build the dynamic tourist attraction the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA. But before all that, she was a shy young woman who married her best friend - and she endured countless personal tragedies shortly after her 40th birthday.
