The Groove Suite Podcast

What's the word, Groovers! We are back with episode 3 of the pod.

In this episode, radio personality/music tastemaker/cool guy Uncle Dandy joins Mr. Al Pete in a conversation about his love and appreciation of Jazz music. Dandy has a week show that is dedicated to the Jazz genres, so Pete wanted to hear more about how he presents the music to his community and how he indulges with the tunes.

They also spoke about their beliefs on how community "should" run, the benefits of someone being part of Dandy's world, and more. Stay tuned because this particular discussion will happen again (if you know how the Groovers work, that's one of our major pillars).

Enjoy Episode 3 (audio and/or video) and be on the lookout for more episodes to come through.

Here at The Groove Suite headquarters, everyone can be a Groover in their own rights, and we respect that. But when we're talking about embodying the spirit of a true Groover (or as the music geniuses would say...a tastemaker), these three "que-rators" are such.

Mr. Al Pete has a cool conversation with ChristinaCurates (The ChristinaCurates Show, New Music Fridays, etc.), MistaGoodBar (The Remedy Radio, etc.), and Soops Kitchen (Soops Kitchen playlists, etc.). The trio give their definition of what Soul is, why doesn't the genre get more praises and appreciation, and essentially...how does this genre make you feel. They also tackled the ongoing segment: "What's Your GROOVE?"...AND...they talk about a new venture they're beginning!

What is that venture you ask?? Find out by listening to the show! Enjoy and share with your fellow music lovers!

Groovers! The shows are still rolling and on this episode, we welcome Ms. Regina Roberts! She shares her love for Jazmine Sullivan’s 2021 platinum album ‘Heaux Tales’ and Mr. Al Pete gets a deeper perspective from her. What do you get when you pair 2 DJs together…to talk about a genre they love…90s Hip Hop?? You get an episode filled with memories, educational gestures, and pure greatness! Who doesn’t like to talk about The Golden Era of Hip Hop?? If you don’t, well Mr. Al Pete and guest DJ Krate Digga will be corner eyeing you through the speakers while you get this game!

Krate gives Pete some knowledge about how Hip Hop music circulated on the radio in his hometown, Columbus, Ohio. Pete shares his lack of hearing Nine’s song ‘Whatcha Want?’ on the radio…or even in his school hallways. They both reflect on their experiences with HBCU Homecomings (Go Kentucky State and Savannah State). There’s also more gems and jewels to pick up from brother Krate. Saying that he’s wise is an understatement. 25 plus years of DJing, record collecting, and being a proud music historian is a small tab of what you’re about to get.

Make sure you follow DJ Krate Digga at the information below! Also, check out his segments from the C4Challenge, season 2! It’s THEE FUNK baby!

October 19th, 2020 is when Mr. Al Pete released his 7th solo album ‘B.A.B.N.’, so on this episode, Pete gives the people the whole album (on a podcast…Whaaaa…).

The story of how the album came to fruition is an interesting one. You can listen to each song being broken down before, or after this show posts. B.A.B.N. 2 is indirectly out, but if you missed it, it’ll be posted as well.

Enjoy the tunes. It’s a celebration, for sure!
