Emily is a hairstylist in West Hollywood who pumped for her daughter Harlow for about a year. Her profession requires her to be on her feet, in front of clients while providing them with the 5-star service they expect. In the hairstyling world, time is money and time away from her clients means she is missing out on opportunities. When she had to figure this out, she had no role models and no examples of how it can be done.
So Emily exclusively breastfeed her daughter for 3 months and then switched to pumping when she returned to work. She started blocking out time on her books every 3 hours so she could head to the backroom to pump.
