John Wingate grew up in the Hannibal/Quincy area and was friends with Joel and Billy Hoag and Craig Dowell. One day, in May of 1967, these three young boys went exploring in Hannibal's cave system - and vanished. John went on to become a broadcaster, journalist and media consultant. Last year, he decided the story of these "Lost Boys" needed to be told, so he wrote,"The Lost Boys of Hannibal: Inside America's Largest Cave Search."
