He lost his wife to cancer while preparing to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. He kept going anyway.

Michael Shaver was on deputation — raising support, casting vision, building toward a life of missionary work in Iceland — when his world collapsed. His first wife passed away from cancer before they ever reached the field. For most people, that's where the story ends. For Michael, it was where faith had to become something real.
