Welcome to the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for May 17, 2017 it's "The Hate Party" edition of the podcast, brought to you by ZipRecruiter and the Great Courses Plus.

This week, our topics are, first, the all-out assault on Trump, latest installment: Trump talks to Russians about sensitive topics that involve classified information and (my God!) the mainstream media goes nuts!

Next, in our second topic, we will talk about haters...as in Republicans. You know, of course, that they call us "haters" all the time. An interesting oped by former G.H.W. Bush treasury dweeb Bruce Bartlett describes (on the eve of Donald Trump's official nomination as the Republican Party candidate, July 21, 2016) how the Republican Party is now nothing more than the party of hate. We will discuss hate. Do we hate? Do I hate? If so, who? And what does that mean? Of course, everybody hates somebody, sometime. Is hatred all it's cracked up to be?

We will have, as always, our shower thoughts. We will talk, this week, about daydreams. Finally, of course, our hidden gem this week is by the Monkees: The Last Train to Clarksville.
