The healing journey is never linear. It's up and down, backwards, diagonal, messy and complicated at times. It's also not about perfection, but more so about patience and progress. We're not here striving for perfection or trying to be a know-it-all. Even after years of being on this journey, we may still find that we don't have all the answers we seek, or simply, the clarity to know which way to continue moving towards. We don't get better at surviving dark nights of the soul because we've perfected the way out. We get better at surviving dark nights of the soul because we continue to build on our faith every time we find ourselves in the dark again. We may not be able to see ahead of us at times, but from past experience, we start to remember that we're able to survive this current shadow phase like we have all the others before it.
