In Matthew 11, we see Jesus express His heart. We get a glimpse of who He is. Jesus is saying, "Come to Me." In this new year of 2021, we need to lift our eyes. We need to look to Jesus. We need to go to Jesus. We need to run to Jesus. Jesus is saying, "Come to me and I will give you rest." Jesus is pulling us into His heart. Jesus is pulling us into His embrace. When Jesus is guiding us, this is what brings comfort to our soul. The heart of Christ is that He is gentle, humble, kind, slow to answer, steadfast. What this means for us is that we get rest that is an active rest. Our response to this is that we move towards Him and move towards others.
