The H'er'story of Davidisms - Life and Death Lessons

Listen Later

This podcast is an abridged version of my H’er’story along with some life and death lessons I learned along the way I thought you might find useful.
If you never want to read my autobiography this episode is the ez-Pass version of my life along with some basic life lessons from my mother that I am so grateful for to this day.  I also take you on a whirlwind journey from my birth in Birmingham, England, all the way to my retirement from corporate America and the lessons I have learned throughout.
I am living a pretty good life considering how I got started - My mom would always say it’s not how you start something it’s how you end it– so when you are faced with wondering what your future looks like – think about the little black kid from England who came to the US in a breadbasket,  think about the challenges she faced growing up in the Bronx in the 60’s and 70’s, think about the fact she looked like one of the little Rascals, she had a lisp and bowled legs in grade school, she was not part of the in crowd and always wondered when or if she would have the opportunity to make something of herself because her profile did not scream success,  If anything it screamed statistic. Then think about her applying to college and through luck, hard work and opportunity getting her foot in the door of corporate America and becoming a business executive, a wife and mother with confidence and conviction.  By my accounting my parent’s sacrifice has been duly paid.  Say to yourself if she can do that with a little then watch what I can do with a lot.
