Welcome to the fourth week and the next instalment in our series, Stories Jesus Told. In this episode, Pastor Stephen Baines shares on The Hidden Treasure and The Precious Pearl. Stephen highlighted that the people in these parables had to sell everything in order to inherit the treasure and focused in on the cost of being a disciple, or follower, of Jesus. We were encouraged to give everything over to God in our walk with Him, to trust that He has our best interests at heart and to follow the example of Jesus as we examine the cost. 

Stephen asked us the question, "Are you sold out for God or holding on to earthly things?" - are we giving God all of it or keeping some things behind for ourselves? 

It is only when we lose sight of the cost on Jesus to make a way for us to be back in right relationship with Him, that we feel the cost of discipleship for us is too high.
