The High Bridge spans the Harlem River, connecting Highbridge Park in the Bronx to Highbridge Park in Manhattan. The pedestrian bridge, which carried water as part of the Old Croton Aqueduct System, was built in the 1840s, but closed to the public in the 1960s. It will soon reopen under PLANYC and connect communities on both sides.
