What’s the price you pay for unresolved conflict in your home?
Most people don’t realize that there’s a heavy price to pay for unresolved conflict. The cost isn’t a financial one, or even a physical one. Instead, all the time spent in the presence of unresolved conflict is time that could’ve been spent building a deeper relationship with your child.
I’ve been counseling teens for more than three decades and I always have to remind myself: These are teens. There’s always gonna be conflict. But I’m here to help them grow deeper in their ability to cope. Our relationship must remain intact even if I get angry or frustrated.
So, the next time the conflict arises, remember you’re there to help your teen get through it. So stop paying the high price of unresolved conflict!
