The Hitler Diaries were supposedly the most intimate thoughts of Adolf Hitler. Instead they just turned out to be the forgeries of  Konrad Kujau just trying to make money. The journals would be bought by gullible collector Gerd Heidemann and published by Stern Magazine for millions. Unfortunately they were claimed as authentic before laboratories could determine they were amateurish fakes.
