Things are off to a promising start despite the fact that Brooke has no idea where the story takes place, nor understands that not all elves live in one single tree. Fortunately, fantasy is more Laura's area of expertise so, as always, we can expect wise and thoughtful comments from her, ranging from Tolkien's experience in the war to the question of whether the story is really about a big adventure or just the growing of friendships.

Also, experience an oddly clairvoyant moment in which Brooke and Laura both make a comparison to Dune's Gurney Halleck at the same point in the story. (How did we do that? We don't know.)
