The holidays are a hard time. We have the idealism of how they're supposed to be the connection, the joy, the fulfillment. We've seen the commercials about how it should look and what it's supposed to be like. But what happens when it doesn't look like that?
We may have this cultural programming of what the holidays are supposed to be but often there's a gap between that and what you may be experiencing. For many, the holidays are filled with armor, emotional pain, loneliness, and an internal lack of belonging that is very painful.
Like everything else in life, we have to take the bad with the good and own it all. Own the great things and the things you are good at, but accept the bad too, and move with it. Whatever comes up, you can learn from it and come out the other side in January 2022.
As you go into the holidays, I invite you to check in and ask yourself: what you are desiring? What do you want to happen? Take a look at the vision you have and what you want from the holidays, so you can start the new year more full and not need a vacation after them.
Join me this week as I share why there's no right or wrong way to enjoy the holidays, and show you why even though it won't be perfect, it can be better. I'm showing you how to practice enjoying yourself without it being perfect and how gathering these insights helps you propel and create the life you want.
