On the 20th episode of The Holy GrAHL, we discuss the impacts of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the historical context of Ukrainians in the AHL.
As with every start of the month, we discuss AHL Player of the Month honors given to Sheldon Dries (ABB) as the overall player of the month, Mattias Maccelli (TUC) as the rookie of the month, and goalie of the month Kevin Poulin (LAV). We also discuss player of the week, Lukas Dostal (SD) in what becomes a goaltender heavy segment.
The Laval conversation continues with the announcement of the AHL All-Star Game making its attempted return to Laval in 2023, and Zack goes so far as to include them in his hot take during the “Swipe Left, Swipe Right” segment. Could it be a clean sweep of swipes this week?
