The Holy Orthodox Order of St. George the Great Martyr
In todays interview we will be speaking with Seraphim Brodie and Maria Powell from the Holy Orthodox Order of St. George the Great Martyr (OSGM). Seraphim is the Director of Media for the organization, and Maria is the Director of Communications. The OSGM is an order of Knighthood that was established with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, former First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, in 2019. The Order was founded for the purpose of caring for the Orthodox Christians of the Holy Land and Greater Middle East who find themselves in need, want, or under persecution for their faith.
In this interview we discuss the situation of Orthodox Christians in the Middle East. Seraphim and Maria recently came back from a trip to the Holy Land, where they were able to meet with some of the local representatives of the Church to develop relationships with them and find out how the Order could be of assistance. We hear from our guests stories from their trip that give us a glimpse of what life in the Holy Land is like for Christians. There will also be a discussion about the Order itself, how it functions, and how one can become a member.
