The Holy Spirit's Ministry John 15:26- 16:33.
The work of the Holy Spirit is not often talked about or explained in the modern church. This week, we are looking at Jesus's promise of the Holy Spirit and how the Holy Spirit enables us to move forward in the vibrant discipleship and sanctification in our spiritual maturation that only He can undertake for us.
Look at the five "He will" statements from Jesus as He describes what the Holy Spirit will do in verses 13-15:
1. He will guide you into all truth
2. He will not speak on his own
3. He will speak only what he hears
4. He will tell you what is yet to come
5. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine.
This talk will help us understand the power and gift of the Counselor, the Spirit of Truth, who will testify of Christ to our hearts and minds and lead us into being a People of God's Kingdom.
Lesson Framework:
Doctrine: The Trinity
Attribute: Omnipresent
Big Aim: The Holy Spirit convicts the world and leads believers to triumph.
Subject sentence: Jesus prepares His disciples for coming Spirit and overcoming joy.
Principles:
The Holy Spirit reveals the truth about sin and salvation.
The Holy Spirit gives believers peace while living in a troubled world.
