Some weeks nothing big happens. No epic wins. No major losses. Just a foggy stretch where you're getting things done but you're not really there.

This week was one of those for me.

I've been quietly weighing a big decision: closing down Handy Hubby, my handyman business, and taking on a steady role with a property management company I already do work for. The conversation that needed to happen got delayed by a few days, and that gap is where the fog crept in. Second-guessing. Running the same conversation in my head over and over. Missing seeds. Skipping my daily non-negotiables.

Then the conversation happened. The fog lifted. And two moments landed in the next 48 hours that I never would have caught otherwise.

Sunday afternoon I got on stage with a guitar, shaking hands, missed every chord, and had no business being up there.

I did it anyway.

This is my after-action report. What it took to say yes, how a book my daughter grabbed at a secondhand shop changed how I thought about fear, and what happened when my girls walked on stage beside me and for the first time in a while I felt full.

One question I'm leaving you with: who in your life is holding up a mirror to the parts of you that you're trying to hide?

A HomeStud is a sovereign steward of his life. A man in control. Authoring his story. Not an NPC going through the motions.

But here's the thing — you can be fully in the fog and look like you have it all figured out. Good job, house on the hill, great family, new vehicles. And still wake up every day feeling like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. Same thing, different day, no real purpose behind any of it.

That's the fog. And most men don't even know they're in it.
