Judge King was nominated to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals by President Carter in 1979. Eventually, she would become Chief Judge of the Fifth Circuit and chair of the Judicial Conference's Executive Committee.

In her conversation with our Editor in Chief, Drew Padley, Judge King shares the winding path she took to the judiciary and some of what she has been able to accomplish there so far.
