Upon great demand, this week on The Hood Morning Pod we brought back arguably one of our best guests ever: The AsSomaali AKA Zbo AKA Abdulqadir! Given that we are on a downward spiral, we've made the executive decision to squeeze some content out of the former Fully Living Pod member. As mentioned by our special helpers, this discussion lasted 2 hours and we've thus decided to divide the episode.
In this opening part we mainly discuss our experiences with language. What hurdles, obstacles, or simple differences separate us from our brethren who speak the Native language fluently? We delve into how we generate and navigate our thoughts. Apparently some people have an internal monologue that narrates their thoughts while others... just think! We tap into the idea of linguistic relativity, "a principle suggesting that the structure of a language influences its speakers' worldview or cognition, and thus individuals' languages determine or shape their perceptions of the world". And then FINALLY, we get to the actual purpose of the episode! I feel like I wrote too much so Imma let yall figure that out for yourselves.
Part 2 next week!!
