“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God”
– John 1:12-13
A sinner, unworthy and unable to help themselves can place trust and faith in the Savior and become a recipient of the Life of God. “Born of God” is a direct reference to eternal life that only God can give. The Christian hope is far more than “life after death” or “going to heaven when you die” though. The Christian hope is bodily resurrection. The physical resurrection of the believer to a glorious eternal life in a glorified body. The is the basis of our Christian hope. This hope is not based upon an empty promise. It is rooted in the fact that Jesus already began the resurrection movement. Because Jesus rose on the third day an inevitable process began.
