Our last segment Tom Potter joins us from the Allardt Pumpkin Festival in Allardt Tennessee.

The Allardt event is affiliated with Great Pumpkin Commonwealth as an official weigh-off site. TN Giant Pumpkin Growers organization contributes to the more than $3800 in prize money that will be awarded to top pumpkin, watermelon, and green squash entries.

The 2012 festival will be Saturday (Oct. 6) only and gets underway at 10 a.m. (Central). Come and enjoy the great weather (fingers crossed) and be awed at the sight of giant pumpkins, green squash, and watermelons weighing hundreds of pounds, as well as an assortment of corn stalks, potatoes, tomatoes, sunflowers and other entries, all vying for recognition. But there is more to enjoy besides giant vegetables.
